An independent publication made up of five editions distributed digitally through our web page and physically in limited quantities. Each publication contains anonymous testimonials shared by college and high school female students who have suffered any type or form of sexual harassment, abuse or gender violence.

The femicides and gender violence in Mexico have been increasing exponentially since 2018.

According to INEGI data, 10 women are murdered in Mexico per day and 70% of Mexican women have experienced some type of violence throughout their lives. In 2019, Abril Pérez was killed by her partner. This is one of the hundreds of cases we hear everyday and, for us, was the drop that spilled the glass.

Throughout our lives we have always heard comments towards our own or other women’s experiences taking away our credibility because of displacement of accountability. Questioning us what we were wearing, if we were or weren’t drunk, if it’s our fault for being “naive”, and the biggest of them all: Now it turns out it happens to every woman? - ¿Ahora resulta que les pasa a todas?

March 2020, pre-pandemic, at the design market at Universidad de Monterrey.

We launched a call for female college and high school students of Monterrey, Mexico to share anonymously through our website any experience of sexual or psychological abuse and/or harassment by partners, family members, strangers or friends to:

1. Give the participants a safe space where they can be heard and let them know that they are not going through this alone.

2. Raise awareness in our community that these are not isolated cases and it is an issue that happens every day to our friends, colleagues and closest female companions through 5 independent zines divided into categories of the 100+ testimonials we gathered.
